About the Artist

Jennifer is a self taught artist who paints from her home studio in Nashville. She enjoys painting from primaries- red, yellow, blue and white, although she loves trying new colors and combinations. Jennifer’s creative process starts from a reference photo and a vintage frame, thoughtfully composing the scene and colors to compliment and enhance the beauty of the frame she’s chosen.

Art and creativity have always been a part of Jennifer’s life. As a child she watched Bob Ross’ Joy of Painting on Saturdays, loved visiting art museums, devoured anything Van Gogh or Monet and painted in her parents’ garage with oils in high school. Although she took a long break from painting during college and the first several years of marriage and motherhood, she picked it back up in early 2020 when of her boys both began school full time.

Beginning by learning to paint with acrylics and then experimenting with different mediums including gouache, watercolor, oil pastel, soft pastel, and oil, Jennifer’s initial desire was to paint pieces that she could hang in her own home. She quickly discovered a love for pairing her work with vintage and antique frames. The reference photos Jennifer works from are almost exclusively ones she’s taken- photos of the places she’s hiked and visited; trying to soak in and memorize the details of how a place and time made her feel. The juxtaposition of history and craftsmanship of a beautiful old frame paired with the clean, fresh colors of her pieces will always excite her. Jennifer’s hope is that her work reflects a fresh take on a timeless landscape and brings joy to your home.

Jennifer currently reside in Nashville TN with her husband, two boys, and their cat Pete.
